I lost my MP3 player in school on Friday....SIAN....reported for loss and I hope I will get it back soon!!! Crossing my fingers and praying hard...

Anyway, here's a Christian artist recommended by my aunt. He's Ian McIntosh, apparently he plays the keyboard for JesusCulture (see video in prev post)

His website: http://ianmcintoshworship.com/

His music sound makes me very excited. It is the closest to the kind I have in mind, should I ever get involved with producing a studio album. Definitely not main stream, I know. Since when was I ever mainstream in my music composition? Hmm. I wanna believe God for that. I believe He doesn't give music talent to someone and then NOT expect him/her to use it.

I love reading the book "Caught between a dream and a job" by Delatorro McNeal II. It is revolutionizing my mind. I see how a dream is a calling, and the NEED to pursue a dream (in a practical way listed out clearly in the book).

I'm going to extract a passage from the book which left me deeply impacted:

"Dormant abilities. This is a big one. I believe we all have been guilty of this one. People with dormant abilities can sing, but they don't. They can write, but they won't. They can dance, they can produce, they can design, they can build, they can engineer, they can sell, they can administrate, they can account, they can develop, they can teach, they can motivate...but they just don't! Their abilities lie dormant inside of them. There is absolute GOLD on the inside of every person; it just needs to be extracted!" (p131)

He went on to drive home a point with the example of Simba from the Lion King:

"Simba's father, Mufasa, was the king of Pride Rock. Simba was a very excited and anxious young cub who wanted nothing more than to be king like his dad and follow in his father's footsteps. Now, the interesting thing is that Simba could not wait to be king, but in reality he could not wait to be...what he already was! Did Simba have to do anything or fill out any applications or interview somewhere to apply to be the king? No. Simba was already born into that purpose and born with king potential as his birthright! All Simba had to do was learn from his father, keep his nose clean, and when the sun set on Mufasa's time as king, it would immediately rise on Simba's time. You see, my friend, you already are the person you want to become. It's just that the person you want to become is in seed form! Simba didn't realize that he already was the king, but he was a little king or a king in training.

Because [Simba] did not realize how great he already was, instead of acting like a little king, he acted more like a big kid, so much so that his behavior got him into a lot of trouble that his father had to consistently bail him out - until one day his father was killed by Simba's Uncle Scar. Once that happened, Simba automatically became king. However, since it happened so fast and unexpectedly, Simba ran from his responsibility to go hang out with his friends Timon and Pumbaa instead of stepping proudly into his purpose and potential as king...[Simba] ran from his potential and purpose so long that it took his father coming back to him in a dream to let him know that he was made for more than what he was displaying." (p127 - 132)
