MY NAME

You ain't seeing it anywhere else
Thursday, March 25, 2010

In my dream, I was at another place with a different atmospheric makeup. Might be on Earth, might be somewhere else outside Earth.

There, we breathe in higher percentage of Sulphur in the air mixture of that place, compared to the usual air that we normally breathe in.

But everyone looks pretty much the same, humans with modern day dressing, cafes and bars lining up a bustling street, smiling and happily striking conversations among their friends, colleagues, families. It's just the air problem.

I had a hard time adapting myself to the kind of air I breathe over there. I mean it's sulphur right haha. But I eventually adjusted to that environment and had no problems thereafter. I became just like the rest of the people there.

Then I got to know that the humans living there live shorter lives because of that. As for me, a visitor or a tourist there if you like, means that every breath I take over there, the sulphur is slowly cutting short my lifespan. But I was still willing to stay, and I chose to stay there longer. Or perhaps I didn't have much choice coz this is a DREAM. Lol.

The first question that came to mind was: Why are they still happy when they know they are living shorter lives than an average normal human being today?

Okay, this whole thing is just showing how my dreams are more science fic recently and stuff and might totally have no meaning, BUT it led me to think about the definition of happiness. When you know your life on earth is limited (well it IS!), what are we doing with our time?
