(2pm News)[Fanaccount] Details on the rumours about the fan meeting!

Unless you're a K-pop fan like me, you wouldn't actually go and read up on the huge hoo-haa caused by the boyband, 2PM. Of which I did blog about in this blog some time last year, I think.

I am saddened by the fact that Jay Park, 2PM's leader, has left the group in late 2009 and it has been confirmed early this year, that he will no longer return to the 7-member group.

What caused his leave was some remarks he made in his MySpace website 4 to 5 years ago when he was still a trainee under his entertainment company. They were seen as anti-Korea remarks. That, however, to me was forgivable because:

#1) Being immersed in a culture extremely different from his Seattle hometown, it's only natural he will sense discomfort while trying to fit into the Korean culture.

#2) 2 types of possible natural responses when discomfort happens and become extreme: you either complain/vent it out somewhere, or you bottle it up all within and suffer a mental breakdown from depression. I believe Jay Park must have been very stressed out with the notoriously regimental lifestyle of aspiring stars during their trainee days. That, coupled with a long-term exposure to a foreign culture, is definitely quite stressful.

#3) The MySpace blog has been stagnant and unkempt ever since Jay Park debuted formally as boyband 2PM. While he may be accused of negligence for not deleting his old blog, of which negligence is an especially unforgivable sin to be committed for a public figure compared to a commoner, I felt that such negligence is still within reason and understanding. Instead, I question the motive of netizens who dug up the past stuff when the blog is obviously no longer updated by Jay Park for a long time.

#4) That, coupled with the way Jay Park portrays himself in the variety shows and his interactions with his fellow members, shows absolutely no sign of him hating Korea. In fact, he is seen to be very at home and comfortable with Korea and its people.

As such, while there are some who felt insulted by Jay Park's comments for being supposedly anti-Korea, JYP entertainment and the rest of the 6 2PM members have always kept their faith that one day, Jay Park will return to the band to complete 2PM once again. I have also felt the same way, because all of us who have basic observation and analytical skills will know that Jay Park's comments made 4 to 5 years ago, do not have the effect of banishing him from the entertainment world forever. All he probably needed to give was a formal apology, and to appease his 'haters' by disappearing for a short while. And then he can come back again.

But what really broke my heart was the revelation that Jay Park will not be returning to 2PM, because of something even worse than this anti-Korea comments episode. According to the statement given by JYP entertainment, they have always hoped for Jay to return. But Jay Park thereafter confessed to the company and his 2PM members, that he has committed a big mistake in his personal life which upon hearing, all of whom deemed him unqualified thereafter to return to 2PM for having done that mistake.

This, to me, is clear enough even though the company didn't explain what mistake was it exactly. If it is a mistake grave enough, it's going to be embarrassing if it's going to be exposed. I believe the company and the rest of 2PM chose to protect Jay Park till the end, despite his mistakes causing the band needing to face such situations today. As such, they didn't mention what exactly.

Jay Park's personal life deeds MUST have been the main reason & the root of the matter. I'm glad that he has chose to confess it out to his company and his members, showing that he knew he is in the wrong, and therefore knows that unless he gets it out of the way, he will remain unqualified to return. He has been picking himself up in Seattle, not giving up on life which is great. His church has also been giving him the much needed support during this troubled period.

So YES, I am sad because I will miss Jay's talents for sure - his dancing and jokes mainly. But I am extremely saddened that some of 2PM's fans have NO BRAINS. 40,000 fans left the official fanclub in response to this, deeming the company and the rest of the 2PM members to be at fault for chasing Jay Park away. In any angle which I view this matter, it is obvious to me that the company and the 2PM members are PROTECTING Jay Park and simply doing what's BEST for everyone. Isn't it???

Latest single. Quite telling of their determination to ride through the storm of being criticized by the very people they are singing and dancing for, right? Don't stop, can't stop....despite the obvious irony...

Seriously, I'm one step short from concluding based on this incident that Korean fans are brainless and rash. Brainless + Rash = Ultimate fool.

Sigh....many 2PM's fans are siding Jay Park, believing that JYP and the rest of 2PM are being very fake and stuff. This must be the worst crisis ever for this boy band. I love every one of them for their talents and stage charisma. I love them precisely because they have no pretense on stage and off stage, which was exactly what made them attractive. No pretense doesn't mean angelic. It means good AND bad, they reflect who they are exactly on stage.

They have been very nice and polite up till now, despite taking lots of verbal punches from their very own fans. What irony. They are more of "Jay Park fans" instead of "2PM fans", I suppose.
