Foreseeing something Foreseeing a potential vulnerable spot. Benchmarking my happiness level with work performance. Unconsciously, I do sense a bit of that happening and I don't want to let it fester further. Pastor Mike Connell preached about "Winning IN the wilderness", a message that I loved thoroughly. The devil teaches (okay not the best word I know) us 3 concepts: 1) I am what I do (if you don't perform/produce results, you are nothing.) 2) I am what I have (if you don't have material things, you are nothing.) 3) I am who people think I am (if you don't have popularity and good words from others, you are nothing.) All 3 concepts attack our self-worth. That's why we must gain a firm ground of our self-worth. We are who we are, because God says we are precious to Him, period. I am happy, because I choose to be happy. Because victors are happy people. And I am one of them; regardless of my circumstance! Life is a marathon; we don't know who wins until we reach the end of it. Once again, God is reminding me that "whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger". Labels: career, contemplative 11:45 PM
