Too inward looking? To be too inward looking is not always a good thing, when all or most I can see is negative things. That means that my mind and focus is on the negative, which isn't very healthy to say the least. Truth is, we are better than what we think we are - when we feel bad. Just a random food for thought. A new week is starting. To some, Sunday is counted as the first day of the week so the brand new week has already come. For me, I'm pretty hopeful to do better in my workplace and produce better results this week than the last. I like what I read in "God is my CEO" by Larry Julian - it mentioned that although we have the larger goal in mind, we may lose focus at times when short term goals are not met and we instead get fixated on achieving short term goals constantly. And that distracts us from the larger goal or purpose. Pst AR Bernard also mentioned the same thing last Tuesday at the leaders' meeting - movement does not equate progress. We can be moving (in circles) but we really are not doing anything productive that brings us nearer to success. We may just be caught in a huge maze unknowingly. Well, this is the perfect reminder for me to (at least) not get too depressed when I don't hit my expected performance results per week. I performed respectably well in the first week, then just barely made it the second week into my job performance wise. And now, I'm hoping and praying hard that I can do better this week. One thing I want to shun is the CEO's nagging or sacarsm directed at me which will read 'ouch', if I do not produce the kind of progress he wants to see in my report card as a newbie. But then again, everyone in the office today has been nagged and verbally beaten up by the CEO before, many times. Which makes sense. With a CEO like that, if you can still remain in the company, you are a fighter and not a quitter. Who grows and get rewarded? We do. With all that in mind, I do not want to find myself in such a depressed or negative state where I have lost focus and forgotten the beginning reason why I have chosen to step into this company. Everywhere I go, I strive to be a salt and light over there. Regardless where. That is my core purpose. According to Dr. AR Bernard, Biblical Cosmology + Core Values + Core Purposes are the 3 main things that sums up the entire Human Condition that is Holy Spirit led. It was very chim, but I am glad I understood! It's time to apply it into my own situation, think clearly about it and practise it. Labels: career, contemplative, revelation 7:08 PM
