Violin! I feel I've been so deprived of classical music now that I've gone back to it after a long hiatus. I feel more alive now...pumped up after 1.5 hours of violin practice. Haven't been touching that instrument for a long time, and am so happy to be going back to it because of an Orchestra recital happening on 22nd Dec. Rehearsals have begun, and time is really tight. Glad I took tonight to revise the rhythms, dynamic and ornaments in the score. Worked them through already! Yay. Quite glad that we are playing Baroque pieces, as big dynamic contrast are usually more straightforward. We kinda need that right now judging from the tight timeline, in my opinion! I am thinking whether I have the guts to perform a simple piece for "show and tell" at my company, aka "motivational sharing". Everybody needs to take turn to share in front of the CEO, Senior Director and colleagues every Monday during meeting. It will be my turn soon. I will be sharing about my life in music. And thus, am thinking that to end the sharing with a simple piece of music performed for my colleagues is a really nice thing to do. BUT, it's kinda unconventional really. Usually most people when they share, they just do talking. Maybe showing of some pictures for visual connection sometimes but nothing beyond that. :\ Okay....I've decided to just prepare that simple piece. Whether or not I am playing it ultimately, it's better to be prepared than not right? Have thought of doing "Have yourself a merry little Christmas" by Rosemary Clooney. She is the aunt of George Clooney by the way! Saw that in Wiki. :) Labels: daily rantings 11:06 PM
