End of 2010: Blessed! With about 45 minutes left of 2010, I'm blogging! Seems like 2010 has been a relatively good year for most people that I observe and know. Personally, it's the same sentiments. Found job satisfaction in the very first serious job I'm in, grew alot from leading a cell group, had testimonies after testimonies, my 3rd uncle got SAVED, prayers got answered, and so much more. I can't thank Him enough for giving me so much good things! Not that bad stuff or disappointing stuff didn't happen, but just that the good stuff simply proves that the bad stuff are just part and parcel of life. Deal with it! One thing and only one thing I could have done better - to be more in tune with God, devoting more time to our quiet time together. In the coming 2011, more than anything else, I want to get right with God. Successes are not meaningful unless I succeed WITH God. Succeeding without God is equivalent to not being IN God's plans for me. That's for sure. If I can describe 2010 in one word, it will be "blessed". Great colleagues, great mentorship, great job scope, great incentives, good improvement in ministry, stronger friendships. BLESSED! Labels: daily rantings, new year resolution 11:15 PM

Hoping: 2011 Nua nua nua nua nuaaaahhh. Tired after shopping and dinner at Orchard with a colleague. I was supposed to be at Tat Haur's place tonight for the orchestra's post concert gathering!!! It totally slipped off my mind. SIGH. Ended the year with good news and testimonies! Praying that 2011 will start off well too. Just felt that this Christmas, could have been more focused spiritually. Anyway, still thanking God for friends that came to church with us and I really enjoyed knowing new people from all walks of life! Something I always look forward to being in church. And I really can't wait till MARCH 2011 - dang dang dang dang!!!!! Moving to Suntec convention hall!!!!!!! Gonna get prepared for that big move spiritually, mentally and all! :D Career wise, really hope that I can get confirmed smoothly in January. Boss already submitted confirmation proposal to big big boss, and big big boss will propose it to the big big big boss. Praying hard!!! As for new year resolution, mainly is to start booking for private driving lessons - currently not able to decide between Manual and Auto. And also to start exercising and build up my immune system! So that I will not always MC. Yup. Looking forward to 2011! Labels: daily rantings, new year resolution 10:38 PM

:) Friday surprisingly, is my sabbath! When like most people, I used to have cell groups on a Friday. It's now Saturday morning at Bukit Batok for me. Yesterday, I signed up with California Fitness @Novena for a year, so must make full use of it! It includes unlimited access to classes (dance, yoga, pilates, etc.), other than the basic availability of the gym, shower facilities, lockers, water, towels. They also help to do monthly measurements of body mass (fats, muscle mass, BMI, etc.) I think I got a good deal. I'm paying $80 per month. They gave me 2 movie passes, $40 Adidas voucher and $100 beauty voucher as the freebies. :) I think I got a good salesperson attending to me. And he isn't a local. He is a Filipino. My guess is that's why I think he's a different breed and I find his sales good haha. Locals? Well, stereotype says locals tend to be slightly more stuck up. In a sense I think it's true. Mr. Filipino is really patient. A little slick in his selling (expected of direct sales people) but can sense his sincerity. I am determined. This I hope will force myself to be committed to the justification of the money spent. Which is, to really work it out man! I wanna hit 48kg in 6 months time. I can do it!!!!! Misconception: So skinny, exercise somemore become skinnier. Misconception: So skinny, sure body fats % very low. Misconception: Running is effective in gaining muscle mass. Resistance... I worked out this afternoon, after months of not exercising. Woohoo. I can feel the degree of resistance my body has towards exercise! It has developed a hatred for it. Lol. Anyway, I am really not who I used to be....fit, lean, strong. Guess the older I get, the more I need to take time out to exercise and maintain that fitness. The benefits of working out is immense if I take a good look at it objectively. Dear body, please cooperate! I'm going to see how long can this last. Haha. With exams looming, I certainly hope exercise will not be cut off the list! Hmm...will I give in to my flesh, or do what will truly benefit me? Oh, another piece of good news: I've been hitting 45 kg lately! Yay!! Workout more...eat more...build muscles more....WEIGH MORE!!! YEAH!!! Labels: daily rantings, new year resolution 9:53 PM

When "tired" becomes "tirelessly" When "tired" becomes "tirelessly" When I am tired for all the wrong reasons, I FEEL the tiredness and let it sink in. But when I am tired for the right reasons, it is the total opposite. That's when I go the extra mile in spite of being tired. Also means "tirelessly". I wanna thank God for everything He has blessed me with this year - my Birthday, my Christmas, my results for this semester, and a whole lot of intangible stuff - revelations, friendships, courage, inspiration, knowledge. I am officially on the ball with others who say they are looking forward to 2010, who sense that next year is going to be really awesome, a breakthrough year. Things are picking up and getting better; not yet where I hope to arrive, but definitely getting there. Spiritually 1. Pray more 2. Fast more 3. Step out more 4. Know the WOG more (Go for weekday BS classes too) Mentally 5. More disciplined 6. Greater diligence in everything I focus in Financially 7. Save more, hurhurhur 8. Fulfill my personal commitment to building fund Health 9. Gain 2kg (to achieve average of 46kg) 10. Run 10km by February 11. Run half marathon by July Others 12. Get driving license by the end of year LATEST 13. Find a job that fits the career path I want to go on 14. Prepare for Grade 8 Violin on Feb/Mar 2011 In my heart I always want to go back and be part of TMO ministry...but somehow time does not work out for me, and as much as that is what I like to do, I have a sensing that's not what God wants me to do right now because of the other priorities at hand. But one day someday, I hope to go back and be with TMO. I REALLY REALLY DO. Trust me. Labels: contemplative, new year resolution 11:32 PM

Verse for 2009 Mark 3:27 (New Living Translation)27 Pastor Tan mentioned on Sunday "Persistence". And this was one of the verses quoted by him to illustrate the power of persistence. I know it's not by coincidence that God showed me this verse during the first week of January, and then with Pastor talking about it last Sunday which helped me understand what God is really saying through Mark 3:27. In 2008, my verse of the year was John 15:16. John 15:16 (New Living Translation)16 Indeed, year 2008 for me was a time when I really stepped UP to a brand new level of spiritual maturity and wisdom. I heeded the call of God, got serious about the divine appointment, and I am thankful that I did. And I know 2009 will be a year that I enforce discipline, act in greater boldness and wisdom and sharpen all my attitudes. And it's a no brainer - it's definitely gonna take some serious persistence. keep the faith up. The key to successful persistence - pray, fast. Give me bread. Give me bread. Give me bread. Give me bread. Give me bread. Give me bread. Give me bread!!!!!!! Na, I give you all my bread. I'm not giving you because you are my friend. I'm giving you so that you won't come back and disturb my family at night anymore! The power of persistence. Labels: new year resolution, revelation 2:17 AM

2008, I will miss you very much. I kind of like 2008. It is a very dramatic year...there's the good and the bad stuff that happened, but i always believed that the purpose of the bad stuff is always to reveal the good. I'm very positive right? Ahaha. True for the world, true for myself. I miss 2008. I know I shouldn't say how i wish 2008 can be longer, but I really feel like saying that. First things first. I need to finish spring cleaning asap (totally aching after badminton-ing and jogging with T2 yesterday, I feel like a grandmother now). Then, I need to complete my goal-setting card. I'm stuck at 'S' of the 'SMARTER'. Lol. I've decided this year I really got to catch up with 3 old friends, form new friendships and develop current friendships. I will make exercise a hobby and my stress reliever. But i know i will only get motivated when i have someone to exercise with. At least for the beginning stage. So please don't reject me if I ask for your companionship! I need someone to push my butt off my seat and just work out. I'm also thinking of taking up Pilates in school or outside, and even dance classes @ O school, if time permits! 2009 will be a year when I enforce self-discipline, no longer just talking abt it. :D YEAH! I'm excited. Labels: new year resolution 1:24 PM
