On a long bus ride + Goodbye Expo Been a long time since I had a long bus ride. :) glad im doing it today. From expo to home. Its the last service of not just the week, but our time in Singapore Expo. Really, I do not think that it's about the place...but the times we spent with each other here, and the revelations and encounters with God that are greater than the former glory of the Jurong West church days. Amazing. My spiritual growth REALLY began when we shifted to Expo for service. Am glad to say I am a new and better creation now than I was 5 years ago. :) Well, 2011 marks my 6th year in CHC. I am proud to say that I am still committed to this church - if not more committed than when I first started out. Today's preaching by Pst Kong also reminded me to look back at my spiritual milestones....those awesome things He has prepared for me & came to pass, when I went through the purification process He has set for me. Im so glad Im a better person today than yesterday. More forgiving, more loving, more thoughtful, more God depending. I love my life because God did a miracle for me. 2 weeks at Jurong West church seems like God's perfect plan. :) Its always good to remind ourselves of the former glory - our First love and therefore our sacrifice for JW - before moving on officially to new grounds. To me, its God telling me not to forget the depth of sacrifice and obedience we had for Him in those days even as we enter Suntec. :) Labels: daily rantings, prayer to God, testimony 11:15 PM

Can't believe that I will have a day like this. Blogging at work! :o Is it my increasing ability to manage my time better, or is it due to lower unemployment rate in the recent job market? =\ Received prorated bonus! God is good...not supposed to be entitled to it cos I only got confirmed in Jan 2011. Glad that the company still has some "ren qing wei". Just went to check my payslip, I think they revised my payslip! There wasn't a column for "bonus" previously. :D Was wondering a few days ago why I mysteriously had more $$ in my bank account. Lol. Praying that I will have more work after lunch. It's boring to not have anything to do! More resumes please! 8 Months now in RE. Wow! 4 more months to 1 year! Reunion Dinner! Had a great reunion dinner tonight with E529 and W425. Had the hardest and longest laughter and jokes ever across the dinner table. It was so memorable especially for the extra "excellent" service. LOL. Well it was a great day in summary, being in church to listen to Paul Scanlon preach about 'lost'. Really awesome....love the way he thinks, the way he orientates while preaching. Thereafter, we had a meeting to discuss about the move to SISCEC. 35 days away! :) Glad to be in the house of God. Praying more than ever, drawing closer to God more than ever. Need His grace & mercy more than ever in ministry and at work (especially this coming week when my mentor's heading for reservice). I believe that He will come through for me! Labels: daily rantings, prayer to God, testimony 11:51 PM

Feeling Blessed God is so good. Even when I don't exactly require things to happen in order for my faith to increase in Him, He makes those things happen nevertheless. God is such a good Father and encourager of my spirit....He is a God of abundance and blessings! I know the faith of my church is real...when it's raining heavily this morning and the hall is still packed in the usual manner. I know the faith of my church is a testimony when the boss of a restaurant we ate at this afternoon praised and gave his honest comments about us City harvesters, encouraging us to stay on in City Harvest despite the authorities probe. I know my church is impacting other churches when I see in Youtube songs we sing at services being translated to other languages and sung in churches around the world. I'm so blessed to be part of a church like this. Labels: daily rantings, testimony 8:44 PM

It's quite relieving to see my nose like a mucous tap, at least some stuff are coming out and my body is cleared of some bacteria. But not until I start to feel the nose bridge feeling sore every time I clear the nose. And then to see tiny traces of blood in the mucous on the tissue paper. But overall, I feel glad that my body is behaving like a regular sick body, rather than behaving a little abnormally like it did the past few times I fell ill. My brother says I have been sick so frequently due to a possible tonsilitis. But could it been stretched over such a long period? 6 months? I'm quite amazed that something of the throat can make such a mess out of my life. :( On the other hand, something GOOD is gonna happen in my life! I'm quite certain that I am getting CONFIRMED!!! :) All the crucial final performance reports are out, and I really believe in God's grace that came through for me. And I want to believe that God's grace will come through for me again and again, as long as I don't stop believing that I can excel for Him and bear a good testimony for Him at work. :) I did a personal best (and thus, a personal best award at this Saturday's company workshop), and I exceeded my quarterly target by 40%. So I'm gonna get an award for that as well! And having achieved the highest sales among new consultants in my division, that's a few more movie tickets added to the rewards I'm gonna be getting! Weeeee! God is Good! My ultimate target is to receive the Fitness Award at the workshop by this year. No MCs allowed within 3 months! Pray that I can stay healthy and fit. My incentives payout for sales done this month should be extremely good. Provided all the money payable comes into my company on time. Haha there's always a catch.....such is life! Ironically, while I'm basking blissfully in my personal victory in the month of December, I'm worried for my sales this month. Sigh. I can imagine the big x3 boss nagging.....either sarcastically, or fiercely, but definitely pressurizingly. Got to jiayou and squeeze in as much as I can to prevent that from turning into a reality! Thankful My childhood domestic helper, Dona, actually found me in Facebook yesterday night! Such a pleasant surprise after losing touch with her for about 1 to 2 years. =) It really made my day. Then, I met Lynn on the train ride to work this morning and we chatted briefly. That made my day too! In my heart, I'm silently thankful to God for His grace provided by creating situations like these that makes me smile. =) Though I may walk through the valley of difficult situations & people, I will fear no evil because His rod and staff constantly comforts me! Happy Friday the 13th It was both a good and bad day. Good because I managed to earn a free movie ticket this week again! Our company implemented this system, whereby as long as we fill 5 people into temporary/holiday jobs we will get 1 movie ticket. Have been hitting this weekly target since like a month ago? So am really glad I am maintaining my fill temp rate. Have 2 tix by now. :) Bad because I was supposed to close my first permanent position case today, but it didn't happen in the end. And this gave my colleague loads of headache and explanation work to do. :( Yeahhh.... But the good always outweighs the bad. Haha. Happy. Heard there MAY be a salary increment. But well, that also means the monthly quota will increase too. In any case, I'm thankful to be in this job. Really happy with God's arrangement. :) Labels: daily rantings, testimony 9:38 PM

Happy 21st, City Harvest! I think the hardest hit would be to fall from a spiritual and emotional high all the way down...but I'm readying myself to face the music tomorrow, when the weekly meeting with the CEO is going to take place. My performance will definitely be affected due to the taking of MC last week. Nevertheless, it's not going to stop me from feeling jubilant today, which marks my church's 21st Birthday. Still remember that I got introduced to this spiritual family around August 2005. Can't remember the exact date; am not the kind to remember details. "...and the greatest of these is Love". City Harvest Church was the place I experienced the overwhelming love of God which I'd never experience so freely as a catholic, or even in the other denominational church which I tried out, before deciding finally that CHC was the place to be. To analyze based on faith, hope and love - In the first church I was in, I experienced hope...a little bit of faith, and barely love. In the 2nd church that I visited for sometime, I experienced faith, hope, and a little love. But it was in CHC that I experienced overpowering faith, hope and overwhelming love. Need I say more? :) Where the church is, there I will be. Regardless. Labels: daily rantings, testimony 10:43 PM

The flesh vs. spirit I realize how the flesh works. Or can say how the devil uses the flesh to work against us. Was super tempted to report sick on Monday. Call it Monday blues or exhaustion over the weekend or whatever. I was literally dragging myself out of bed in the morning, super unwilling to go to work. But I talked myself out of it in the end, because I had people coming into the office to be interviewed by me. And to reschedule all of them will be a big hassle for myself, and a big inconvenience imposed on my colleague who will have to reschedule or interview on my behalf. And, I wouldn't be paid if I skip 1 days' worth of work. That means less $$$ earned. It also wouldn't reflect too well on me, even though I felt that I ought to see the doctor for my cough. In any case, I turned up for work in the end. That was a good decision apparently, because I managed to interview many good candidates, and to fill a temp position that day. Otherwise, I would have entirely missed out on that chance! A big sigh of relief there. Haha. Amazingly, I felt energized on Tuesday, eager to work my butt off. It is a huge contrast to how I began my Monday! And I could hardly explain the difference in emotions/drive to work. It might be the fact that filling a temp position raised my happiness level, but it was definitely more than just that. In any case, I have proven and convinced myself that not giving in to the flesh is the right choice. And I should do that more often and let my spirit win more frequently. Haha! I am me. I am me. I don't know how important it is that people just realize their perception of me is not me. Perceptions are misleading and subjective at times. It's MY perception of me that matters. Anyway, just thought of talking about this without any particular reason, really.... I'M HEADING TO KOREA THIS 31ST MAY!!! Cool news. Of course I don't have that financial capability to sponsor myself. My aunt is paying for the trip! I really really really thank her so much for blessing me with this trip. Most of all, I hope I can be blessed with a job without any delay after graduation and the Korea trip. Might be taking up part time or temp job if there are any in the month of May. I need the financial provision, supernaturally or not, to invest in some classes that I wanna take up. Working towards my God-given future. Plus, I should take up driving lessons and get that license once and for all!!! Can't deny that it's gonna be more convenient with a car right? Despite lots of ERP, peak hour traffic and etc. Whether I like to drive or not, that's not the question. Was also sharing with my girlfriend this afternoon that I wanna seriously learn how to play soccer and basketball, and to be adequately good in it to play friendlies with my future fellow soccer/bball enthusiasts. Yeah...I'll make time for it in early May! =D Exciting! See, I've already "broke through" by playing L4D2. Also, by going to LAN shops to play LAN games! It's something I never thought I'd touch in my whole lifetime! But I did, and I really enjoyed it. And, I think I can say that I'm pretty good at them. Hehe. So soccer and basketball, HERE I COME!!!!! Labels: daily rantings, testimony 5:35 PM

Nothing is too difficult for Him Communication is the key to life. (Smth unrelated to my blog entry below again, hehe) Nothing is too difficult for Him FIRST THING Just wanna thank God for proving to me that indeed, there is nothing too difficult for Him especially if you are doing His work! What do I mean? =) I was supposed to meet my friend for breakfast before service, and we agreed to have morning call at 7am. To my surprise, I couldn't get thru her mobile when I called her. I suspected that she might have switched off her mobile while sleeping, or she finished using her Hi! Card value. I was troubled because we were supposed to meet at 8.45am at Tanah Merah Mrt station, but I was running VERY late. I set off for church at 8am, and would reach Tanah Merah Mrt station at around 9.30am. If she decided to turn up on time at 8.45am, I would feel so sorry because if she decides to wait for me, it would be a 45minutes wait! O.O At that moment, how I wish that she either overslept and did not turn up, or that she would be smart enough to travel to church on her own. Anyway, God is good and He did not allow any of the above possible situations to happen...haha... When I alighted at Tanah Merah at 9.30am and walking down the flight of stairs, I saw someone who looked like my friend in front of me! It was indeed my friend. Not 'like', but actually IS! I mean, how could this be just a coincidence? Of all trains, we took the same train, and we were around the same cabin area near enough to be going down the same staircase, and at the same time? Haha. I believe in divine intervention even in little things like this. =) Totally. SECOND THING A friend from cell group came to church by himself for the very first time today. Usually, he sits his parents' car to church cos the whole family attend church together. However, this weekend the parents are abroad. Although he was half an hour late for service, I was honestly very touched by the fact that he made the effort to come. I talked to him after service and found out that he did not have much sleep the night before and was looking very sleep deprived. Really thankful to God for the process of His molding that I am seeing in him. =) I believe that all these are happening for a good reason. I am really thankful for having such a loving Father who wants the best for His children. Service today rocked. Personally, it spoke. Will remember what God said and His assurance that came with it. "This is for you". Labels: revelation, testimony 9:51 PM

Thanksgiving Post I am actually feeling thankful on Thanksgiving Day. Hmm. I thank God for: (A long list! Shows that I'm blessed in my past 22 yrs!) FAMILY 1. A complete family... 2. Family members that are so supportive (morally and financially) that I develop my musical talents 3. Parents that are still paying my phone bills, Uni education, pocket money, & now cab fares when it's exam periods for me 4. A mum who fought tooth and nail to get me the best education past 22 years 5. Dad who nurtured me in experiential science when I was young - rearing caterpillars into butterflies, hatching lizard eggs, all in plastic containers - something I'll never forget, even though I don't feel fated with science anymore. 6. Dad who sat through Maths 10/10 PC Tutor, Biology, Chemistry, Physics with me and being readily available when I needed help 7. Brother who will always bless me greatly on my birthdays 8. Uncles and Aunties that are also caring for my future and well-being, and are also generous people, but stingy with themselves 9. A nice house to live in the past 15 years with many pets to accompany my growing up years. I will never forget Reagon who was put to sleep eventually due to his paralysis, Oscar who died in a car accident, my 2 chickens, a house of rabbits, hamster whose name I forgot, and Golden now who is still surviving (thank God)! FRIENDS & LEADERS 10. My friends from Primary School - Alethia, Charmaine, Joan. And also for putting me in Pri 6BD class that we're still meeting up frequently now & always looking forward to it! 11. YT, who brought me to know Christ as THE Person, not just my savior, but my Lord 12. Sis Veron, whom I learnt to respect by seeing how much others have respect for her, and then experiencing her leadership for myself, although for a short while only - she and the cell group taught my the City Harvest Church culture from there. That was the reason I stayed on. 13. Bro Victor, who I respect alot as a wise leader and learnt most of what I believe and apply right now from him. 14. My Uni Friends - Teng Teng, Stephanie, Li Chin, Ball, etc...whom I got to know better only during my final year, but I am glad I knew them better even if it wasn't over a long time 15. WL - The only person in church who I will show the level of my crap, and who will know the words that is truly in my heart and mind...and, the only person who I can trust to understand my words & who I am 100% comfortable with when it comes to confiding. 16. VIC Leaders - for always bringing laughter in the face of challenges before us. You guys amaze me at the level of strength to take all that in with a smile on the face...I have learnt well throughout the period of being part of you, and I must say, we have all grown together. In bonds and in service. I love & respect you guys for being my standard. CELL GROUP (Also under "FRIENDS") 17. Cell group - N119, W280....you guys are always part of my life. I wish I had been more proactive in connecting with you all especially Clement, Huizhen, Elly, Esther (both, lol). But there was always alot of balancing to do, and I guess I could have done better...WELL, time is coming soon when I can take THE load off my mind! Exams end @ Dec 2! Meet up soon... 18. The NOW Cell group - Thanks guys for running the race with me. I know I'm not the most perfect leader around, in fact I'm far from it...but you guys have stuck together with me and it has been 4 months now. I can't promise that you won't ever face a disappointment in this cell group, but I can promise that I'll put in my greatest effort and tgt with God's grace, we will see each other grow and transform. I'm not perfect either, and all of us are long time Christians with alot of room for improvement. So let's give grace to one another, even as we seek the higher calling, and most importantly....NEVER STOP LOVING GOD & LOVING OTHERS! --------------------- Last of all, I want to thank God for being God! 1. Thank God for placing ALL THE ABOVE in my life! 2. Thank You for being more interested in my character growth than my comfort/convenience...there are SO MANY instances in my life I could quote for this...only You know all of them! 3. Thank You for being a loving father, being smarter than everyone that I may know, being more forgetful about sins that have been confessed and repented from than others around me, being the peace in my heart when I need it, and the strength in me when I needed it to overcome odds, being the guide in me when I had to depend on the gifts of the Holy Spirit! 4. Thank You for writing the Bible - formidable weapon for those who have bothered to read the user manual! Haha... 5. Thank You for being a God that actually responds. 6. Thank You for setting up the standard for morality & ethics...makes me less confused living in this screwed up world. That isn't all, but I'm sleepy now. Maybe I'll continue sometime soon! Or not! =) Thank YOU for reading this! I hope everytime you are here to read my blog, you are blessed. Labels: contemplative, testimony 10:44 PM

Flying Colours! + English lessons Passed my Violin exam with flying colors. Old news already but still must update blog la. Actually the moment I saw my results online I wanted to blog it out but was so excited and wanted the fastest way to announce to the whole world this good news. Haha. So I twittered and facebooked and MSNed. Haha thank God for these mediums!! Instead, I should talk here about why I was trembling with joy. It must really be God. This is a TESTIMONY! The moment I stepped out of the exam room, I already felt defeated and was in a "I don't wanna talk about it or face it for at least the whole of today" mood. I felt I did worse than normal practice times. But I guess my violin tutor knew better. Even when exam was looming, teacher did not tell me whether I'm playing good enough to just pass, or get a merit, or distinction. I didn't dare to ask him, in case he says I'm not good enough and will just pass only. Then I'd be super disappointed la! And I don't want to give up even before I step into the exam room. Also, and worse, I couldn't read the examiner's poker face (po-po-po-poker face po-po-poker face). He sounded uber friendly in a professional way throughout the exam. I couldn't tell whether I did well or not from his expression at all! Heard examiners are supposed to do that, so that candidates cannot tell how well/badly they've done. Anyway, so it was. This exam has reassured me that I haven't lost my talent in classical music...that God is always faithful and when He gives gift to us, He will never revoke it, or take it back. =) But more than that, I also now able to put greater trust in my violin tutor's teaching to bring me through to grade 8. God is so gooddd. I'm also going to help my Korean friend with conversational English...I was asking God for creative ideas to make lessons fun. Indeed, in like 1 minute after I prayed, I got my inspiration! It's going to be so interesting for her man. Going to watch CNA at 5.32pm. Topic on Inter-religious harmony. Pastor Kong's going to be in it. =) Labels: testimony 4:09 PM

Tired but still must give thanks :) Actually I'm tired but I got alot of things to bloggggg..... Why am I so "accountable" when it comes to blogging regularly?? I am helpless abt this part of myself. I guess it's out of a heart that wants to share certain insights, hoping to benefit someone out there...I don't know. Hahaha. And also to share abt God's goodness in my life. =) I wanna thank God for: 1. A successful class gathering, plus supper at Chomp Chomp treated by PK and Evan! This one was only involving those who sat Adeline's car home...heh heh heh. Thank God for the car ride home! This is the good thing abt having a neighbour that drives, who is my primary sch classmate. :D 2. A lifetime membership @ TCC because people are willing to let me have the receipt. So you ppl that want to eat there in future, you can come find me! 15% off. Currently there's 1-for-1 treat, SUPER WORTH IT I TELL YOU. Normal meal in TCC is $16 on average. So you only pay $8+! Haha. Yesterday, each person only spent like $10.60 (inclusive of GST, Svc charge) over there! 3. A great Cgm on Friday. I miss having prayer meeting for Cell group very much....I was very happy when I got to know tt we would be praying. :D I feel encouraged when I see my friends pray. Their faith is a great encouragement for me. 4. Good time at violin lesson yesterday. :) I felt very bad these few weeks because it was a combination of being lazy to practise + not able to find breakthrough. These two factors are closely related....they influence each other. Haha! Anyway, I believe it was cos of the CG prayer meeting, I practised for 2 hours after I returned home. It was amazingly fruitful, and I can feel the breakthrough coming. My violin tutor complimented and encouraged me at the end of the lesson. Words of affirmation!!! Hahahaha. It worked its magic on me. Now, I feel much more motivated to be diligent with practice. :) 5. A great service with AR Bernard today. Same message, but different degree of impact. The message may be on the boring side especially for ppl that can't really understand its depth...but God's presence and anointing was so evident! Personally, I know God is speaking to me about reaching out to the "outcasts" once again....wounded people that we encounter in daily lives but nobody bother about them. I like Pst Kong's quote of AR Bernard's words: Love (something can't rmb), Love (something can't rmb), Love redemptively. This phrase stuck to my brain ever since. Will blog in detail abt it more soon. :) Labels: testimony 6:13 PM

Provoked! I'm provoked. I need to have a more happening lifestyle!!! I should go ahead and pursue whatever interests I have, especially if it is to do with the arts....I don't know how, since I'm feeling so tied up already. but if other people can do it, why can't I?!?! Oh yes I can! >:)))) Recently, I've got this thought that if I could choose all over again, I'd probably choose to major in theatre studies in NUS. I think i've got the knack for it man. Totally. This module I'm taking have allowed me to say that I can be a pretty good set designer. Wahaha. And actor too. I never knew such a major existed. Neither do I know whether it has a 'future'. So I'm stuck in a course I'm not really enjoying doing now...but it's no doubt that the job prospects would probably be better upon grad from my course...but at this stage of my life, I prefer to go with my heart rather than rationality when comes to CAREER finding. Not that rationality is bad. I just need to balance up a bit more with the 'heart' factor. I am a victim of social constructivism. This is BAD. Sigh.... ............. I've got a testimony to share! I got B+ for my sociology term paper. PTL MAN! I never thought I would pass that paper, don't even talk about getting a B+ for it! God is amazing! As i've mentioned, I feel like I'm living in God's bubble over the past 2 weeks. There is protection upon my life. and I believe it doesn't just come without a reason....it has to be because God is pleased with me (thank you Jesus!). If not, why leh??? And. perhaps...I'm going to face a larger obstacle from now onwards. Prolly that's why God is assuring me of His presence, power and anointing upon my life. I got to prepare and equip myself mentally and spiritually. This is so important....not to be complacent. Waging a war! And I'm winning with God on my side. =) Need more of Him to conquer more terrains. With obstacles come greater breakthroughs. With greater breakthroughs come even greater obstacles. And the cycle goes on....until we are perfected in Christ Jesus. Labels: daily rantings, testimony 12:34 AM

Visitation: Popo @ CGH After a bout of dehydration leading to high amounts of potassium in body, which led to kidney failure, my popo ended up in Changi General Hospital once again. That was 1 week ago. But praise God! because she has been kept in prayers by all my friends and my Christian relatives and their Christian friends, God did a wonderful thing. =) And I'm able to witness that today, as I followed my aunt and parents to visit her at the hospital. A few days ago, my mum told me that grandma's condition improved significantly and it was really amazing for that to happen. Her speech is much clearer now, she is more conscious of her surrounding and people, and she is also able to communicate to us what she wants/don't want. It is a tremendous improvement considering for the past 1-2 months she was in a state of severe depression, always crying the moment she sees someone familiar. Rejecting food, no will to survive... So I really want to thank God + my friends who helped keep my grandma in prayer. Without friends and God, such improvements wouldn't even occur! I'm sure about that. Lately God has been soooo good to me. I love Him. Testimonies after testimonies. You are amazing, God! Today, my aunt asked me to pray for my grandma. First time she has ever asked me to do that! I've been envisioning for this day to come, when I can lay my hands on grandma. And i did just that this afternoon! Leading the prayer in english with my aunt and my mum....God, You are amazing. And I believe my Popo can feel the touch of God as I made that prayer. There was this sudden peace that came upon her countenance after we made the prayer. I know it's because when 2 or 3 gather to pray in unity, there is power. :) Indescribable - Chris Tomlin Labels: testimony 10:42 PM

Something miraculous Something miraculous happened. My grandma, who was eventually hospitalised (i didn't blog about it sorrray) due to dehydration which led to a kidney failure, is well now! Thank God for all your prayers...and N119's prayers. God is a prayer answering God...! My mum was worried if it's 回光反照。Basically a phenomenon that sick people suddenly get well, which is a sign that that person is really going to pass away the next moment. Like how morbid can we get huh?! I believe this is the work of God and this is true healing. Not 回光反照. Please continue to pray for her. Thank you so much everyone. I can't believe a healing testimony has actually happened in my life. Labels: testimony 11:56 PM

Testimony! After 4 days of sleeping at 2am or later and needing to wake up at 9am for classes, I finally am raising the white flag. I decide to sleep early at 10pm tonight. I've got a makeup class tomorrow to attend. blur me thinking there's no class today but there was. If not my Friday would be school-less. :( I'm eating popiah while typing this entry. And the light started flickering just. And I'm dead tired. Maybe partly cos I didn't have my lunch and cos I had a long day. I just wanna say GOD IS SOOOOOO GOOD. I exchanged emails with prof who I wanted to have as my thesis supervisor. we were supposed to choose our supervisors, if not then they would be allocated. Thank God my topic is within his area of expertise and therefore he will be of great help. Early bird catches the worms first. ;) I didn't want to end up being allocated to a supervisor I'm not comfortable with. Law of the first! everyone in my cohort is basically frantic about finding a thesis topic cos the proposal submission deadline is nearing. But i'm glad i started my research last Dec, and managed to begin preliminary consultation with prof at this period when the rest are just frantic. Not trying to be mean, but I always believe in the law of the first. And I'm pretty confident I'm on the right track already! I never imagined I could actually be enjoying the process of writing my thesis paper. As a building major, seems like everything's so technical that I really dislike and would shun them if I had the chance. I dreaded the time when I had to do my thesis. But God is good. God's got the best ideas! I prayed sooooo hard in the midst of exchanging emails with prof the past 2 days, hoping that he would be interested in my topic. God heard my prayers! Yippee! Excited at the prospect. :) Labels: daily rantings, testimony 9:08 PM
